Rachel Rutherford

Rachel Rutherford is a Glasgow-based musician and graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She has twenty years experience in playing the piano and fifteen years experience in playing the clarsach, or Scottish harp. A Mod gold medallist, she has played at a variety of events, including private parties, award ceremonies, weddings and charity events.

Rachel studied Traditional music at the RCS. Along with learning clarsach, she studied piano, learned Gaelic song, Scots song and composition, and is now working to encourage her own students to write music and accompany themselves in song. She also encourages her students to experient with different styles of music to find what best suits each individual musician.
